In 1955, an invitation to participate in the forthcoming Universal and International Exhibition in Brussels was received. It was decided that the expense involved would be disproportionate to the results likely to be obtained.
Ireland will, however, as a member of the Council of Europe and the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation, be represented in the joint pavilion organised by these bodies, which will be devoted mainly to the achievements of both organisations.
