Vol. 165 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Survey of Fishing Centres.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the engineers of the Office of Public Works made a survey of all the major fishing centres some time ago with a view to setting up four or five major fishing stations, and, if so, if he will state the cost of the survey; and whether the reports are now being considered.

The direct answer to the first part of the question is in the negative and the second part therefore does not arise. The Deputy may, however, have in mind the surveys of certain coastal areas of Counties Cork and Galway carried out some time ago. The results of these limited surveys will, of course, be of assistance to the Harbours Consultant who is being engaged.
