Vol. 165 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rearrangement of Mayo Townland.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the rearrangement of the townland of Ballinamorna, The Neale, Ballinrobe, County Mayo (Lord Kilmaine Estate, lands of Ballinchalla), which was started in 1931, is still incomplete and, if so, if the Land Commission propose to have the rearrangement completed at an early date.

Of seven holdings comprising 101 acres in the townland of Ballinchalla included in the Kilmaine Estate, six were vested in the tenants in 1933 following rearrangement of three of the holdings. One holding, containing 34 acres, has since come on hands of the Land Commission through migration and it is proposed to utilise these lands to effect further rearrangement or enlargement as soon as possible.

Could the Minister say does "as soon as possible" mean this spring?

As far as I know, as soon as the Land Commission can get around to doing it.

I would like to be given a more definite answer than that.
