A State grant of 75 per cent. of the estimated cost of erecting a beacon on Carrigeenfushta, Bullsmouth, Achill, has been sanctioned and the Mayo County Council have agreed to contribute the balance of the cost and to accept responsibility for the future maintenance of the beacon. It is hoped to carry out the work during the coming summer.
