asked the Minister for Finance if he will state for each year since 1948-49 the expenditure (including expenditure from the National Development Fund) on arterial drainage (a) surveys and (b) construction works.

The expenditure on surveys and construction works under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, was as follows:—
