asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (1) the number of labourers' cottages erected by Kerry County Council (a) in group schemes and (b) of the single rural type in each of the ten years ended 31st March, 1958, (2) the number of such cottages at present in course of erection, (3) the number of approved sites at present under the control of the county council which are available for the building of cottages, and (4) the number of approved applications (as at the 31st March, 1958) from persons awaiting rehousing by the local authority.

Particulars are not available in my Department in the form requested by the Deputy. The total number of cottages erected by the Kerry County Council in each of the ten years ending on the 31st March, 1958, was 2, 13, 39, 22, 162, 100, 41, 78, 116 and 122 respectively. Sixty-nine cottages were under construction at 31st March, 1958. Sites for 45 cottages which have been acquired by the council are available for building. There is no information in my Department as to the number of approved applications for rehousing received by the council as at 31st March, 1958.
