Vol. 171 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lixnaw Water Scheme.

76.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Lixnaw water scheme, County Kerry, (a) the date on which tenders were sought by public advertisement, (b) the date on which a tender was provisionally accepted, (c) the aspects of this tender which required clarification, particularly as regards fixing the rate of wages to be inserted into the contract, and (d) the position of the accepted tender as on Saturday, 29th November, 1958.

77.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if and when a tender was submitted by the Kerry County Council to his Department for approval for the carrying out of the proposed water scheme at Lixnaw.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 76 and 77 together.

I have received no proposal from the Kerry County Council for the acceptance of a tender for the carrying out of the Lixnaw water supply scheme. I understand that tenders were invited on the 28th April, 1958, and were duly received, that a decision as to the acceptance of a tender has not yet been taken but that the matter is receiving active consideration.
