asked the Taoiseach if he will state the acreage of arable land under tillage in County Donegal as compared with the other counties.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing for 1st June, 1957, for each county (a) the estimated acreage under corn, root and green crops and flax, (b) the estimated acreage under crops and pasture and (c) item (a) expressed as a percentage of item (b). The separate county figures for 1958 are not yet available.

Following is the statement:—

ESTIMATED Area under Corn, Root and Green Crops and Flax and Crops and Pasture in each County on 1 June, 1957.

NOTE—These estimates are based on returns received for farms in the District Electoral Divisions in which Garda Stations are located covering approximately one quarter of the area of the State.
