asked the Minister for Finance if he will state particulars of applications for the improvement of piers and slipways in West Cork awaiting attention by his Department; and the present position of each such application.

I have had the information sought by the Deputy set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be included in the Official Report.

Following is the statement:—

GROUP 1:

Cases in which engineering reports and estimates of cost have been prepared, and where the amount of the grants to be oflered is the subject of consideration.

Dromkeal, Bantry

Improvement of Sand Quay.

Dursey

Improvement of landing facilities at Mainland and Island sites

Goleen, Bere Island

Improvement of Sand Quay, Slip and Approach Road.

Lehanebeg, Cahermore, Bantry.

Construction of Quay and Approach Roads.

GROUP 2:

Cases in which sites have been inspected and engineering reports and estimates of cost are in course of preparation.

Castletownbere

Improvement of slipway and provision of steps.

Crookhaven

Provision of steps at pier.

Crowangle (Whiddy Island)

Repair and raising of slip.

Firkeal, Glengarriff

Dredging of approach to pier.

Owenahincha

Construction of a slipway.

GROUP 3:

Cases where inspections have not yet been carried out.

Baltimore Harbour

Construction of a slipway.

Garnish

Removal of rocks and marking of rock at entrance to anchorage.

Myross (Blind Harbour)

Repairs to slip

Reen Pier, Castletownsend

Extension to jetty
