Vol. 174 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Education Classes at Curragh Camp.

19.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he has received a request from the County Kildare Vocational Education Committee to provide suitable accommodation for the holding of vocational education classes at the Curragh Camp; and whether he is in a position to provide the necessary accommodation.

The County Kildare Vocational Education Committee has recently represented that the premises at Campa Tréineála an Churraigh which have been used as a Vocational School since 1949 are unsuitable. Alternative arrangements for housing the school are under consideration.

Can the Minister give any indication now as to when a favourable decision is likely to be communicated to the Vocational Educational Committee?

I cannot say when, but it should be soon.

I take it there is no doubt that accommodation will be provided?

I do not think there is any doubt.
