asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position to give an approximate date for the development of the Killorglin area under the Rural Electrification Scheme.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 8 and 9 together.
I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that the Glencar region is included in the Killorglin rural area for the purposes of the Rural Electrification Scheme. The Killorglin area has been considered by the Board on a number of occasions for selection for development, but so far it has not been successful as its returns have not compared favourably with those of other areas. It will be reconsidered by the Board from time to time, and its prospects of selection will depend on how its returns then compare with those of the other areas awaiting development in the Tralee district.
