asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to provide a new national school at Shankill, County Dublin.

Tenders for the erection of the proposed new school at Shankill, County Dublin, have been obtained by the Commissioners of Public Works and are, at present, under consideration. I am unable to say when work on the construction of the new school will commence.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to provide a new national school at Kilternan, County Dublin.

A site has been offered by the Parish Priest for the erection of a new school at Kilternan, County Dublin, and the Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to furnish a report as to its suitability. If the site is acceptable, certain preliminary arrangements will have to be made before a grant can be sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of the new school and before a contract for its construction can be placed. These arrangements will necessarily take a considerable time to complete and I am unable to say when a grant will be sanctioned or when the work on the erection of the new school will be put in hands.
