Vol. 178 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Wages Board: Inspectors' Visits to Farms.

38.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state in respect of a recent year (a) the number of holdings visited by inspectors of the Agricultural Wages Board, (b) the number of cases in which records of wages were available, and (c) the number of cases where no records of wages were available.

(a) As indicated in the last Annual Report of the Agricultural Wages Board, which was presented to the Dáil on 10th June, 1959, the number of holdings visited by Inspectors of the Board in 1958 was 2,074.

(b) and (c): The Agricultural Wages Acts do not require the keeping of records of wages, and I understand from the Board that information is not available as to the number of cases in which such records were or were not kept.
