I understand that trial borings in connection with the proposed new bridge were carried out recently and that the results of these are under consideration by the technical officers of the Dublin Corporation. As the proposal for the erection of the bridge is at a preliminary stage it is not possible to say at this stage when the actual construction of the bridge is likely to be undertaken.
There are no proposals before my Department for the general development of the island.
