Vol. 180 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rate Collections.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the figures for rate collected for 1959-60 on the basis of each unit of population for the county boroughs of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Waterford and the borough of Dún Laoghaire, and for the cities of Wexford, Kilkenny, Drogheda, Galway and Sligo, respectively.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

In view of the fact that the information to be included by the Minister in his tabular statement will depend very largely on the effectiveness of the collection, which is a matter strictly for the local authority, may I ask the Minister if, at his early convenience, he would be able to supply me with what I require, namely, a comparable assessment of the rate per unit of the population in these areas?
