asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider taking the steps which are needed to inaugurate a system whereby Irish citizens living in Britain and elsewhere who wish to do so may vote at general elections in the State.

This is a matter which comes within the terms of reference of the Joint Committee on Electoral Law to whom the Deputy might, at this stage, convey his views.
