Vol. 186 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Improvement of Bouleenshere (Kerry) School.

65.

asked the Minister for Education what the present position is of the proposal to carry out improvement work to Bouleenshere national school, Ballyheigue, County Kerry.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that they had prepared sketch plans for the reconstruction of the existing Bouleenshere national school building as a girls' and infants' school and for the erection of a new boys' school on an adjacent site. Subsequent to the preparation of the sketch plans the reverend manager intimated that he was not now in a position to acquire the plot on which it was proposed to site a septic tank in connection with the provision of sanitary accommodation at both schools. The Commissioners have had a further inspection carried out with a view to making alternative arrangements for the septic tank. The sketch plans are being revised and copies of these plans will be sent to the reverend manager at an early date.
