The average numbers of males in insurable employment in agriculture, as derived from sales of Social Insurance stamps at the 3/2 rate for the twelve-month periods given on page 14 of Economic Statistics, 1961 were:—

These figures are subject to the qualifications stated on page 13 of Economic Statistics, 1961, that stamps sold in a period do not necessarily relate to employment in that period.
During the period covered by the figures given in Economic Statistics, 1961, the rate of weekly Social Insurance contributions in respect of females employed in agriculture was 2/6. This rate also applied to female domestic servants, and to persons engaged in share fishing, so that it is not possible to distinguish sales of insurance stamps in respect of females engaged in agriculture.
