I promised a deputation last year that I would do my utmost to have an engineering survey started in this area before the end of 1961 and I hope to have the survey commenced later this year. Until the results of the survey have been considered, a scheme prepared, and the requirements of the Act complied with, we cannot say when works are likely to be begun.
