I move:—
That a supplementary sum not exceeding £50,800 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1962, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Stationery Office; for Printing and Binding, and the provision of Stationery, Paper, Books, Office Machinery and other Office Supplies for the Public Services; and for sundry Miscellaneous Purposes, including the Publication and sale of Reports of Oireachtas Debates, Bills, Acts and Other Government Publications.
The main reason for the Supplementary Estimate is the need to replenish stocks of paper, envelopes and other office supplies. Provision is also required to meet the cost of a mechanical horse and trailer purchased to replace a motor truck and expenditure, in excess of the sums provided in the Vote, on books, periodicals and office machinery required for the Public Service. There was a rather large purchase of paper and prices of periodicals were higher than anticipated. Stocks have been replenished under subhead E.
