(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government if he is prepared to sanction the transfer of Fethard town area from Tipperary S.R. No. 2 rate collection area to No. 5a area, where the collector is paid on a percentage basis, in view of the fact that (1) the appointment was made last Autumn on a salary-cum-bonus basis (on his suggestion in the interests of economy) and increased by 12 per cent. on 2nd April, 1962 and (2) there is an extra cost to the ratepayers of £100 or more per annum entailed by such an arrangement.

I have received no proposal from Tipperary (S.R.) County Council to transfer Fethard from Rate Collection District No. 2 to another District. The question of my sanction does not therefore arise.
