Vol. 194 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare County Council Credit Balance.

28.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has now seen a copy of a report issued by the Kildare County Manager to the members of the County Council in which he stated that the credit balance in favour of the Council on the 31st March, 1961 was £152,380; and how this figure can be reconciled with the total of £173,190 11s 4d., being the sum of the figures given in a reply of 22nd March, 1962.

I have seen a copy of the report in question. The report states that the figure of £152,380 was the net credit balance at the 31st March, 1961. I understand that the figure was arrived at by deducting from the balances shown in my reply to the Deputy's question of 22nd March certain liabilities and by adding a sum for credit balances held by the county council in favour of the urban districts.

Can the Minister give details of the sums deducted?

I am afraid I have not got them at the moment but I think I could get them. If the Deputy wishes, I shall have them sent to him.

Please do.
