I am informed that the figure quoted by the Deputy was reported by Dublin County Council as the average cost of repairs of 140 cottages for vesting purposes in a recent period. I understand that the expenditure per cottage varies from £300 and more in the case of the older cottages to quite small amounts in the case of cottages recently erected. I am satisfied that the interests of tenant purchasers of cottages are adequately safeguarded by the statutory provisions in regard to repairs.
