asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received a proposal from Kerry County Council to provide a piped water supply for the districts of Abbeydorney and Kilflynn, County Kerry; and, if so, if he will state the present position regarding the proposal.

Revised proposals for a piped water supply for the districts of Abbeydorney and Kilflynn were received in my Department from Kerry County Council on 7th March last and approved in principle on the 26th. The submission of contract documents for the scheme is now awaited.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department received a proposal from the Kerry County Council in connection with providing a piped water supply for the districts of Farranfore and Firies, County Kerry; and, if so, if he will state the present position regarding the proposal.

There are no proposals before my Department at present for the provision of a piped water supply for the areas in question. I understand that Kerry County Council are awaiting a preliminary report from their consulting engineer on a scheme to serve these and other adjoining areas.
