The Geological Survey has a considerable amount of information on record about deposits of quartz, silica sand and china clay in the Erris and Achill areas of North Mayo, and this information has been brought to the notice of all persons likely to be interested in undertaking minerals exploration and development work in these areas.
I will, of course, be prepared to grant prospecting facilities under the Minerals Development Acts in relation to the deposits in these areas to any applicant who can satisfy the customary conditions as to financial and technical resources.
