Vol. 196 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Commission Annuities.

40.

asked the Minister for Lands why Land Commission annuity collections are not terminated when the purchase price, plus all other expenses effecting the transfer of a farm, have been paid off by the tenant.

Collection ceases when the purchase price and any subsequent statutory charges on the lands have been repaid in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Lands Acts and Rules.

Perhaps I should explain that the repayment period varies for particular farms—being dependent in such individual factors as consolidation with other lands, the funding of arrears and the existence of improvement and reclamation advances.

If the Deputy is interested in any individual case, may I suggest that he communicate with the Land Commission.
