asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the holding of a person (name supplied) at Faha Court, Killarney, comprising 222 acres has been on the public market for sale for some time; if so, if the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring these lands; if they intend to have negotiations with the owner; and if they have made any offer to the owner with a view to purchase so that the lands can be divided amongst the local people residing in uneconomic holdings.

The position in regard to this property is as stated by the Deputy. Whilst acquisition proceedings have not been instituted, I am informed that certain dealings are pending between the Land Commission and the owner but for the present these dealings must be treated as confidential.
