The Government have approved in principle of the development of a major fishery harbour at Howth on the lines indicated in the published report of Mr. Bjuke, Harbour Consultant, to which I would refer the Deputy. With a view to the formulation of detailed proposals hydraulic model investigations have been made and trial borings and soil sampling are being carried out. Pending completion of the engineering investigations it is not possible to give a firm estimate of cost or to say when works are likely to commence.
