I propose with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the estimated amount required at mid-November, 1937, to purchase the same quantum of goods and services at retail prices as would £1 at mid-November in each of the years 1946, 1951, 1961 and 1962. The estimates are based on the retail price index numbers which are calculated in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year.
Following is the statement:
