My Department has approved of the site proposed to be acquired by the local health authority for the erection of the new clinic at Tuam, subject to certain safeguards regarding the actual position of the new building on the site. While I appreciate the urgent need for this accommodation in the Tuam area, its provision is primarily a matter for the health authority. However, I understand on inquiry from the health authority that they are now taking steps to acquire title to the proposed site and are arranging with their architect to begin the planning of the new building.
