Vol. 205 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants to Bray Hotel.

13.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether any grants from State or semi-State bodies were paid in respect of the Old Conna Hill Hotel, Bray, County Wicklow, and, if so, the amount and date thereof; and whether such grants have been repaid now that the premises no longer operate as a hotel.

As I indicated on 24th January, 1963, in reply to Deputies Mullen and Kyne, it is a standard condition of the Bord Fáilte grant scheme that hotels in receipt of grant assistance must be maintained as registered hotels for at least five years after the grant payment. I have satisfied myself that this practice has not been departed from.

The Deputy will appreciate that I cannot reveal details of the business of individual hotels.
