Vol. 205 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio Reception in South-West Cork.

46.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the increase in the cost of radio licences, he will give any assurances to the people of South-West Cork that the reception will improve.

The provision of a satisfactory sound radio service is a matter for the Broadcasting Authority. The Deputy will appreciate that the Authority has had to direct its activities since its establishment towards the setting up of a television service. I understand, however, that proposals for improving radio reception in areas such as south-west Cork are at present being examined by the Authority.
