Vol. 208 No. 11

Written Answers. - Schedule E Income Tax.

46.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give the estimated amount of Schedule E income tax collection for 1964-65 in the form of a reply to Question No. 12 of 4th April, 1963.

It is proposed to answer Questions Nos. 45 and 46 together.

Under the system of accounting for income tax, the net receipt for any year is not segregated under the various Schedules. Estimates have, however, been prepared of the net produce of Income Tax under each Schedule and particulars for the year 1961-62 were given in my reply to Question No. 122 tabled by Deputy Sweetman on 8th April, 1964.

It is estimated that the Schedule E tax to be collected in 1964-65 will amount to approximately £19,900,000 of which £16,400,000 will be collected under Pay As You Earn. Corresponding information in relation to Schedule E tax for 1963-64 was given in my reply to Question No. 116 tabled by Deputy Sweetman on 8th April, 1964.
