Vol. 213 No. 6

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 2, 3, 10—Votes 23 and 37—11 and 12. Question will be taken at 2.30 p.m.

Perhaps the Taoiseach could tell us now what the arrangements are about the sitting next week.

We will certainly meet on Tuesday. The Whips will have to meet on Tuesday to decide whether it will be possible to complete business on Tuesday.

I understood the tentative arrangement was that there would be one full day devoted to a discussion on the Adjournment.

The Whips are, I think, meeting again today to review progress.

I understood we were to meet after questions to find out if we could finish public business today, in which case there would be one sitting on Tuesday.

This arises frequently at the end of sessions and no one agrees as to what the other has heard. We agreed we must meet next week at the normal time on Tuesday. Secondly, we agreed we would meet today immediately after questions to assess when Public Business will end and, in the light of that, fix a definite date for the debate on the Adjourment.

I think that is what I said. Maybe my English is not understood by a Donegal Irish speaker.

It was perfectly clear.
