Vol. 213 No. 6

Personal Explanation by Minister.

I understand that in the record of this House, arising from yesterday afternoon's proceedings, the word "perjurer" is being used and is said to have been used by me. I want to make it quite clear that this word was not used by me. That was not the form of the word used by me and I would wish that the record should be corrected.

What is the procedure in regard to that, Sir?

The Minister has made a personal statement and that statement has been accepted. The Minister's statement will now go into the Official Report.

And that means the official record of the House will be altered.

The statement the Minister has made will be included in the proceedings of the House.

The official record will not be altered, as recorded.

There will be no alteration of what has been recorded. The Minister's statement now has been accepted and the only alteration will be what the Minister has said now.

Because my hearing of the statement was that the record should be corrected.

Some of the things that were not in it should go into it, too.

Who deleted what Deputy O.J. Flanagan said?
