Vol. 215 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building Society Loans.

6.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has, as previously announced, met the building societies to discuss the non-availability of loans for house purchase; if so, with what result; and when the public may expect a relaxation of credit for house purchase purposes.

Arrangements have been made to meet representatives of building societies next week.

As regards the implications in the last part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to my replies to previous questions on the subject on 12th May, 1965, and 28th April, 1965.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say what date next week it is proposed to meet?

Towards the end of next week, I think.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary definite? The purpose of my question is to find out when I should put the question down again?

I suggest the Deputy put down a question next week.

I shall do that.
