Vol. 216 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Model School.

67.

asked the Minister for Education (a) when a new school to replace the model school in Limerick will be erected and where it will be sited, (b) when he proposes, as manager, to appoint a permanent teacher to the vacancy existing there and at present filled in a temporary capacity, (c) what accommodation in the existing school is available to take the numbers of new pupils presenting themselves or wishing to present themselves, and (d) if he will ensure that no children are denied admission there.

It is proposed to erect a new school on the site of the existing model school in Limerick. At this stage of planning, however, I am not in a position to say when the new building will be erected. I hope to have the vacancy for a permanent teacher in the model school filled at an early date.

I expect that the accommodation available will be adequate to meet the requirements of pupils seeking admission to the school this year.
