It is not proposed to build a new school to replace the Maharees national school. A grant has been sanctioned by my Department towards the cost of carrying out a major scheme of improvements at the school.
The arrangements for the execution of the scheme are in the hands of the Commissioners of Public Works. I cannot say at present when work will begin.
