The main heads of housing expenditure set out in the Statistical Abstract are given in the Returns of Local Taxation.
Expenditure on the maintenance and repair of local authority houses was approximately 11 per cent of total housing revenue expenditure in the years 1960-61 to 1963-64 inclusive. It is estimated that approximately 40 per cent of the capital expenditure shown under Loan and Stock Accounts related to the provision of new houses by housing authorities.
