Vol. 221 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Measuring of Diesel Oil Purchases.

37.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that purchasers of diesel oil in rural areas have no actual method of measuring oil purchases; and if he will take steps to have this matter rectified.

The Weights and Measures Acts provide that every measuring instrument used for trade shall be verified and stamped by an Inspector of Weights and Measures. This requirement applies to commercial transactions in general, including sales of diesel oil in rural areas.
