Vol. 221 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Water Supply Scheme.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in relation to a water supply scheme for Rockbrook, Whitechurch and Sandyford, County Dublin whether he has yet received the findings of the public inquiry held in October 1965; and, if so, when a decision will be reached so that progress can be made on this water supply scheme.

The inquiry opened on 6th October, 1965, but, following a request made on behalf of the council, it was adjourned without any date being fixed for resumption I understand that a revised scheme covering a larger area is being considered by the council but no proposals for the taking of water for this revised scheme have yet been submitted to me.

Could the Minister say whether this revision has taken place on a request by him or whether it was a change of mind and attitude on the part of the county council?

It might be rather difficult to say "yes" or "no" to that, without some notice. I might have had a little to do with it but I should not like to say I was responsible for all of it.

I should like to put it all on the Minister.
