A drilling programme was carried out in the Connaught coalfield between 1960 and 1962 at a cost of £33,891.16.0. Twenty-four boreholes were drilled, 12 of which were in the Arigna district. The results of the drilling will be found in the Geological Survey Report which was laid before the House in July, 1964.
