Vol. 222 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loss of Working Days.

39.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of working days lost through illness in 1964 and 1965.

As I informed the Deputy in reply to the same question on 24th March, 1966, the only information available in my Department in regard to the number of working days lost through illness is in respect of persons insured under the Social Welfare Acts and it does not relate to the calendar year. The number of days lost through illness in the 1964 benefit year based on claims for payment of disability benefit by insured persons was approximately 15,472,000.

As indicated in my previous reply the information requested in relation to the 1965 benefit year will not be available for some further time.
