asked the Taoiseach the estimated total cost to the semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department of granting to their employees earning less than £1,200 per year an increase of £1 per week for men and 15/- per week for women.

The total annual cost would be about £100.

asked the Minister for External Affairs the estimated total cost to the semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department of granting to their employees earning less than £1,200 per year an increase of £1 per week for men and 15/- per week for women.

There are no semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department.

On the basis of information furnished by the semi-State bodies under my aegis, the estimated total cost would be £2,167,000.

The total cost to the semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department of granting to their employees earning less than £1,200 a year an increase of £1 a week for men and 15/- a week for women would be about £176,000 a year.

For the semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department, the estimated total cost per annum would be as follows:—National Building Agency, £400; An Foras Forbartha, £600; National Building Advisory Council, £90.

There are no such bodies under my Department.

There are now no semi-State bodies under the aegis of the Department of Lands.

There are not any semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department.

I am informed that the estimated total cost in one year to semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department is £77,253.

The answer is that there are no such bodies.

Radio Telefís Éireann is the only semi-State body for which I have a responsibility. I understand that the estimated annual cost to it would be £31,000.

The total estimated annual cost of granting the increases referred to by the Deputy would be £25,000.

asked the Minister for Education the estimated total cost to the semi-State bodies under the aegis of his Department of granting to their employees earning less than £1,200 per year an increase of £1 per week for men and 15/- per week for women.

There are no semi-State bodies under the aegis of my Department.

In view of your decision, Sir, which you have communicated to me, that it is too late to raise the subject matter of Questions Nos. 28 and 29 on the Adjournment, I wish to give notice that I intend to raise the matter next week.

Might I point out to the Deputy that it will be necessary for him to mention this matter next week?
