I have been informed by CIE that there is no proposal for the closure of the railway line between Athlone and Mullingar in the foreseeable future.
Is there a survey being carried out on that line at present?
Surveys are always being carried out with regard to improvements, repairs and maintenance of the line but there is absolutely no intention on the part of CIE to interfere with the main arterial network with Dublin.
