There are no proposals before my Department in this matter but I understand that Kerry County Council are at present preparing a preliminary report on an extension of the Barraduff water supply scheme at Lissavigeen. I have no information as to the date on which the first survey was taken.

14.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a water supply will be provided for a number of householders in the Ballymacarberry area, Nire Valley, County Waterford.

I am informed by Waterford County Council that work has now started on this scheme.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position relative to the water supply scheme to serve Carrowreagh Road, Carndonagh, County Donegal.

Tenders for this scheme are still under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say when a decision thereon is likely to issue.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now prepared to sanction the application lodged by Donegal County Council on 2nd April, 1965 to proceed with a water supply for Malin Head, County Donegal; and, if not, when he proposes to sanction it.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 17, 18 and 19 together.

Contract documents for the three schemes to which the Deputy refers are under consideration in my Department. I am not in a position to say when approval thereto is likely to issue.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position in relation to the Newtowncunningham, Manorcunningham-Burnfoot regional water supply; if he is aware of the great need in this region for water service; and if he is prepared to sanction a loan applied for by Donegal County Council on 5th October, 1965 so that Part I can be advertised with a view to an early start being made to this scheme.

Contract documents for Stage 1 of the Lough Mourne regional water supply scheme which provides, inter alia, for trunk mains to Manorcunningham and Newtowncunningham have been approved but Donegal County Council's application for a loan of £200,000 to finance part of this stage is still under consideration in my Department. Amended technical proposals in relation to the Rathmullen water supply scheme are at present under consideration in my Department. I am informed by Donegal County Council, however, that they have not as yet acquired all necessary water rights for the scheme.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in the Clonmany sewerage scheme in respect of which a preliminary report was sanctioned on 10th September 1963; if he is aware of the need for this service; and, if so, if he will sanction all matters with his Department so that an early start can be made on the scheme.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government why he has not sanctioned the loan applied for by Donegal County Council on 5th October, 1965 to provide sewerage schemes to serve the villages of Carrigart, Creeslough and Kilmacrennan, County Donegal; and if in view of the great need for these services he will sanction the application without further delay.

Donegal County Council's loan application to finance this scheme is at present under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say, however, when a decision in the matter will issue.
