Vol. 228 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Meat Prices.

43.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that prices charged to Dublin housewives for cuts of beef, ham and bacon and for sausages have steadily increased; and if, having regard to reports published in the past few months that the market price of cattle and pigs has dropped considerably, he will explain why the housewife has not experienced a reduction in prices; and what action he has taken, or intends to take, in this very important matter.

The information available to me shows an upward trend in cattle and pig prices over the period mentioned by the Deputy.
