Vol. 228 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Social Welfare Recipients.

14.

asked the Minister for Labour if, in view of the fact that residents of the Clydagh Valley, Clonkeen, County Kerry have to travel 14 miles to the nearest employment exchange at Barraduff to receive unemployment assistance etc., he will set up an office in either Clonkeen school or post office to facilitate them.

I have examined the position regarding the residents of the Clydagh Valley, Clonkeen, County Kerry, who have been travelling to Barraduff Garda station to have their unemployment forms certified each week. As a result I am having arrangements made to have the forms of the persons concerned certified at Clonkeen as from next week and they are being notified accordingly.
