There has been no change in the position regarding this scheme since my reply to the Deputy's question on 23rd February last.
Could the Minister say what was the reason for the delay in going ahead with the scheme?
The reason is the same as that which exists in the case of a number of other schemes. The amount of work, the design of which is completed, is more than it was possible to carry out at one time.
Could the Minister say whether it is the intention to have the water and sewerage supply schemes installed at the same time— concurrently?
In this particular case?
This is a separate question.
The question put down is only in connection with a water scheme. I have no knowledge of a sewerage scheme; this relates only to the water scheme.
Could the Minister say where in the order of priority is the Kilbehenny scheme on the county council list of works?
It is No. 7.
There will be six others before it?
Yes, but one of these has already been sanctioned, that is the Castleroy scheme.

Amended contract documents for the Oola sewerage scheme together with loan applications to finance both the Oola water and sewerage schemes are under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say when a decision in the matter will issue to the local authority.
In view of the fact that there has been agitation for practically 20 years to have a water scheme in this village, could the Minister say what is the reason for the delay? Have not all the preliminary steps been taken and is it not a matter of waiting for sanction from the Minister's Department? What is the delay?
Money.
The delay is the same as I indicated in the other cases. It is only possible to certify one amount at any given time.
