asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each of the years 1966-67 and 1967-68 the total amount allocated out of the Road Fund to local authorities; and the balance remaining in the Fund after allocation to local authorities for each of these years.
Ceisteanna—Questions (Resumed). - Road Fund Allocations.
As to the first part of the question, I would refer to my reply to a series of questions from Deputies, including Deputy L'Estrange, on the 20th June, 1967, on the subject of Road Fund grant allocations. The total then given for 1967-68 is still the best estimate available.
The balance remaining in the Fund at the close of any financial year is arrived at by taking account of the opening balance in respect of that year, the receipts of the Fund for that year and the aggregate of issues from the Fund in that year. On the foregoing basis the balance in the Fund at 31st March, 1967, was £2,618 14s 11d; the figure for 31st March, 1968, is, of course, not yet available.
33.
asked the Minister for Local Government the total amount allocated out of the Road Fund to each local authority (a) for 1966-67 and (b) for 1967-68.
As to (a) of the Deputy's question, I would refer him to my reply of the 20th June, 1967, to questions from himself and other Deputies on the subject of Road Fund grant allocations.
As to (b), the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.
